The UNCG humanities and research building is a 3-story, 86,000 square foot building o­n the campus of UNC @ Greensboro, North Carolina. This building includes classrooms, lecture halls, a computer lab, conference rooms, and administrative offices. Work included connection to the campus high voltage and telecommunication loops via underground ductbanks and new concrete manholes. In addition to the standard power, lighting, and fire alarm systems, the project features include lightning protection, a 125 KW emergency generator, site lighting, elevators, dimming systems, occupancy sensor light control, motorized projection screens, security system cameras and card readers, telecommunication systems, fixed seminar tables and seating, seismic restraints, CCTV, and GPS wireless clocks. All the feedback from the Owner’s staff has been very positive and the round 3rd floor faculty lounge pictured above the main lobby is said to have o­ne of the best views o­n campus.
