Safety
Communication, prevention, training, access to information and resources, and teamwork are the cornerstones of our workplace safety program.

2022 Diamond STEP Award
Working hard and being safe can be challenging. But it is a challenge our employees accomplish every day.
We are proud to announce we are the recipient of the Diamond STEP award from ABC Carolinas. The award recognizes the efforts each Watson Electrical employee puts into their safety and the program we have in place.

Communication
Communication is critical to safety. Everyone on a project should be able to communicate quickly and effectively with each other, regardless of their role. That’s why we use the 1Watson app as our primary communication method and safety information source. The app is easy to use and accessible to everyone on a project, and it provides employees with the following:
- The current Safety Manual
- Safety Forms
- Accident/Incident guidelines
- Instant connection to a Safety Inspector
We encourage our employees to communicate with each other and with their supervisors about safety concerns.
Training
Training is also an important part of our safety program. Everyone on a project receives training in the specific hazards they may encounter, and we provide regular safety training to all our employees. Our training covers a variety of topics, including:
- Fall Protection
- Excavation & Trenching
- Ladder Safety
- NFPA 70E
- Equipment Operator
- Hazard Communication
- Confined Space
- Lockout Tagout
Prevention
Prevention is another critical element of our safety program. We are committed to preventing accidents before they happen and take a proactive approach to safety. For example, we identify potential hazards and develop plans to prevent them from occurring. In addition, our employees use task-appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) to stay safe.
Access
Access to information and resources is also vital for safety. Everyone on a project should have access to the information and resources needed to stay safe. That’s why we ensure all our employees have access to the 1Watson app, Safety Inspectors, and daily huddles with job safety analysis.
Team
Providing our employees with comprehensive safety training is essential to creating a safe workplace. Safety is a team effort, and everyone on a project has a role in creating a safe work environment. That’s why we encourage everyone to be involved in safety and hold everyone accountable for safety. By working together, we can create a safe work environment for everyone.
