Watson Awarded: East Carolina University Medical Examiner Complex

New Commercial Construction Project in Greenville, NC

East Carolina University is expanding its campus with a state-of-the-art Medical Examiner Complex, a 25,280-square-foot facility situated on a 24-acre site. Designed to meet the growing needs of forensic, diagnostic, and academic work, this complex provides modern, specialized spaces to support the professionals and students who rely on it.

The facility will feature advanced laboratory and imaging capabilities, including radiology and future CT services, as well as a BSL-3 containment suite to support high-level research and safety standards. Dedicated work areas for pathologists, autopsy assistants, investigators, and fellows, along with enclosed transportation spaces and collaborative office areas, ensure the complex is both functional and adaptable to a variety of professional needs.

Constructed in partnership with T.A. Loving Company, this project represents a significant step in strengthening regional forensic infrastructure while supporting educational opportunities and community impact. Once complete, the complex will serve as a hub for critical forensic and academic functions, helping to advance the capabilities of professionals and students across eastern North Carolina.
